Re: question about rare gene results

DNA Consultants has three Sinti population lineage markers that trace back to northern India as do the Romani/Gypsies themselves. These marker are not original in Gypsies, but reflect an earlier population that handed down the markers, which were carried by the Gypsies as they migrated west through ...

Re: 1 Jewish II & 2 Jewish III

Yvette, Historical events play an important part in the human story. Jewish II alleles (markers) are characteristic among the Ashkenazi (German) Jews. In mid-20th century, the German Holocaust was launched by the Nazis, and millions of people were killed, including 6 million Jews. Individuals and wh...

Re: 1 Jewish II & 2 Jewish III

Continued good work on your research.

Re: question about rare gene results

Greg,

That bar divides the second and third boxes because Sinti has three possible populations, and should someone show markers from all of them, DNA Consultants would need a third box.

Hope this helps.

Re: I got eight rare genes.

Good afternoon, Raven,

If you go to DNA Consultants website and look up the Lake Baikal gene, https://dnaconsultants.com/lake-baikal-gene/ , it will tell you that it's prominent in Mongolian and Native American populations among others.

Hope this helps,

Re: Cherokee ranking

On page 1 of your Native American DNA report is your genetic profile listing marker values found at the sites used for identifying ethnicity. This is the raw data gleaned from your DNA by the laboratory.

Hope this helps in your search for understanding,

Re: Cherokee ranking

I think you should be excited to have three matches to Cherokee populations in your top 100 World Matches. Native American - Michigan is also closely linked with Cherokee. As DNA Consultants states, these DNA matches are for your personal research only and are not taken by the tribes or the U.S. gov...

Re: Jewish markers with Iberian background

Dear Linda, Thank you for asking about the mix of Jewish individuals cited in the population referenced. I found that the Jewish population data represent DNA samples from 124 Jewish individuals in the collection of The National Laboratory for the Genetics of Israeli Populations, at Tel-Aviv Univers...
