Re: Wayne Co KY Cherokees
P.S. Marcia, I don’t want to imply that just because my #2 and #3 match MAY have lived in the 1600s, that this would apply to your #1 as well. This all guesswork unless you are an expert (which I am not.) I’m sure there are many variables to situations where this would not be true. But as you resear...

Re: Wayne Co KY Cherokees
Marcia, you have some interesting ancestors to research. Having #1 Cherokee DNA will certainly spur you on to doing family research on your lines. Just to give you a little perspective, I spent several years trying to find my Hispanic ancestor (to the best of my knowledge) who ranked (out of 50 WPM)...

Athabascan GG Slave VA
My great aunt (in the 1930s) told my mother that the family had a “Canadian Indian grandmother.” I was quite hesitant to confront the subject of Native American slavery but, with family tree research and DNA results, I began to believe our Athabascan great…grandmother MISS NELSON (1774-1811) might h...

There has been a great amount of interest in learning whether or not SHERRILLS passed on Cherokee DNA to descendants. This is probably true in some cases depending on which Sherrill ancestor a person may have had. I was trying to figure this out for myself with no success in my “Do I Have Cherokee a...

Re: Possible False Hispanic match if you have NA ancestry
Teresa, thanks so much for your note, “We think of someone that is Hispanic as a Spaniard who married an American Indian….” Without this valuable clue, I would never have figured out where my 38 (out of 50) Hispanic World Population DNA Matches came from and I would be forever baffled and wondering!...

I questioned my top three Mega Population Rankings in my Fingerprint Plus test three years ago. My Analysis began, “Iberian or Hispanic with American Indian admixture…”
It isn’t that I knew what I was talking about, but I was confused. After years of personal genealogical research (ancestry.com, e...

Hi Jakay,
Same as Greg, I had been wondering about the three Sinti boxes. I have checks in the first two. Do you know what the three boxes represent?

Re: My Rank 1 WPM - “Russia - Chukchi (Eskimo)”
Hi TK238, No, I haven’t taken any other DNA tests to date. The theory that Native Americans arrived in the Americas by crossing the ancient Bering land bridge has been very popular in recent years. This has been challenged as not proven and incomplete by Donald N. Yates and Teresa A. Yates in their ...
