Re: Austin and Rice surnames
I am not sure how/ why I found this. A link to Geni on Cheepoake Harris. In the family and genealogical section below the heading there are Austins within this family with connections to Spaoni, Cheraw, Cataba, Mattaponi, etc. Also noted in the link is Austin’s mentioned as not of pure European bloo...

Austin and Rice surnames
I dont usually take to much stock in trees on Family Search or Ancestry. Most I have researched have discrepancies that range from mild to wild. And with Family Search anyone can add/ delete at will. However. I have found within my mothers, mothers, father lines of Rawlings and Vernon a branch of Ri...

Marcia,
I am not sure if I am reading these charts correctly. But if I am. My alleles fall within the parameters of the Apache list at the link you provided. As well as some Navajo alleles

Re: A few family photos
Deloss’ grandparents Ester Love Steele and William Ford were both born 1825 and 1826 in Marshall and McMinn Counties Tennessee. That we know of. And by 1860 were living in Arkansas, where Deloss’ father was born. I have a hunch, but don't know for certain, that my family is or may be of more America...

Re: A few family photos
This is a picture of one of DeLoss’ sisters, Mary Ester born 1894 location unknown as of yet. What is odd is I have found her on a non population census in Crawford Kansas 1905 when she was 11 in a household of the surname Sandridge. Strange as her parents Francis Marion Ford and Amanda Lota or Lore...

Re: Archeology magazine article on Cherokee cave art
The Cherokee ritual of “going to water” seems very akin, to me, to that of a Hebraic immersion or “baptism” cleansing ritual by water.

Re: Archeology magazine article on Cherokee cave art
The inscription on page 4 of the article looks very Greek in my opinion.

Re: A few family photos
Thanks for posting. Your great grandfather DeLoss Crittenden Ford looks quite Choctaw in my opinion, although a quick search shows Crittenden is usually Cherokee and DeLoss is Kiowa. Dr. Yates, Thank you. I can see that Choctaw in there. And like you said Crittenden is usually Cherokee. His middle ...
