I was wondering what present day sample populations from the interior of Africa provided the DNA for the Sub-Saharan African III marker?
That is to say, which land-locked African nations, or specific populations within a particular nation, were the source of the DNA for the Sub-Saharan African III marker? Did the samples come from Ethiopia, for instance? Or possibly from Mali or Niger, etc?
This seems to be the only marker on the entire ethnic panel that doesn't give a source (sample) or extended population, so I'm curious about it.
Thanks.

It's not possible to say, since African DNA is uniformly spread across Sub-Saharan Africa. If I had to guess, I'd say Central Africa or Eastern Rift Region. The Ethnic Motif Map doesn't indicate.
