Does Gaines count for Goins?

Postby jodyb » Tue Jul 06, 2021 4:05 am

Hello,

I have been looking for a Fannie Gaines who is on the birth certificate of my grandmother's mother, Annie Viola Seymore.

I have been stuck. I have not been able to find anything more than a marriage between Fannie Gaines and John Seymore. Then, Fannie disappears. No US Census, no obituary, no record at the Indian Rolls.

Is there any relationship between Gaines and Goins?

Best Regards,
J.B.

Hi, J.B.,

I checked with Dr. Yates, and he said no. He said Gaines derives from English while Goins is Hebrew. He had at one time thought maybe, but looked into it.

Hope that helps.

Jakay
