Hi , Im new to this forum .. I took the Native American finger Print plus ..mine came back as US Cherokee Admix n=62 and Native Michigan n=29 mega populations rank 10 .. What is the Native Michigan ?? This does mean I have Cherokee in my family somewhere ?? .. My Granny always said we have Cherokee but noticed in my genealogy most families who married into my surnames are said to be Creek Indian. My Cherokee is 8 and Michigan is 34

Welcome to the communities board. We have so much to explore in our DNA, and the reports can be helpful. My Cherokee admixture shows up at No. 39 in the DNA Fingerprint Plus test. I didn't know I had any. I also took the Rare Genes from History test and received a First Peoples marker, which is found in Algonquin and other lines.

The investigators are glad to discuss our individual questions about the reports with us. You can call 888-806-2588 from 10-6 Mountain Time Monday-Friday. I do know that distinguishing the tribal associations from the DNA alleles can be difficult because the DNA is spread throughout North and South America. I'm not certain which tribes or their members live in the different regions of the country.

Give them a call for the answers to your questions.

Again, welcome,
Jakay
