Postby Shari » Thu Oct 13, 2016 12:14 am

I read somewhere that the surname Coffin is a variation on the surname Cohen. Is this true? Thanks!

Yes, Coffin is a corruption of Cohen through the Spanish, which pronounced h like ff. Coggin is the same. Both are common in Scotland.
